Education is an endless activity that is needed in all walks of life and is therefore very crucial to the progress of the human race. History has shown us that without education, civilizations crumble and fail to progress. News is essentially information that has been published over the radio, TV, internet or in some print medium and not known before. A good example is world news or international news as such.
News and other types of information can have many different viewpoints depending on who is reporting it and therefore needs to be reported in a different way from other news and factual sources. While general news could be seen as just an everyday event, political, environmental, international and sports news are more complex as they need to be reported as such in line with the specific context it was given in. The common problem of misrepresentation and lack of perspective in the news, is what makes it important for news agencies to implement clear news selection and a clearly defined set of news values.
The role of news in our society, both political and environmental, has increased significantly over the last decade with the increasing popularity of blogging and social media.
