Health Education Program (HEP) refers to the process of planning, delivering, evaluating and improving the health education. The process helps in maintaining a healthy and safe society. All the activities of the HEP can be incorporated at the local, regional or national level. At the regional level, several activities are carried out such as training of professionals, coordination of activities of different groups and improvement of facilities and infrastructure. At the national level, several activities are carried out for such as coordinating and disseminating information about healthy living, parenting tips, immunizations, diseases prevention and family planning.

Health evaluation is an integrated process involving all the aspects of health care. There are three levels which are very useful in this context. These levels are a community, school and community health clinic. Community health clinic may be a small place like the home or a big facility like a hospital. They may provide general and / or preventative health services, primary care, immunizations, support services for chronic disease management and STD (sexually transmitted diseases).

Community – based service programs include access to primary health care centers. At the community-based level, there are several activities such as counseling, referral to local agencies for additional resources, coordination of care within the neighborhood and so on. school-based programs are conducted at the secondary and tertiary level. At the secondary level, students are encouraged to get involved in the community through clubs, sports and so on.

Health evaluation has three levels: Which are very useful in the overall process. These levels are population screening, nutritional evaluation and preventive care. Population screening can be done by interviewing adults at random and / or visiting homes and community organizations. Nutritional evaluation deals with advising nutrition to the population and to the individual.

The third level is preventive care: This evaluation is done to evaluate diseases that have not been detected at an early stage and to reduce their incidence. By preventing diseases, we can save the economy a lot of money and human life. Prevention is better than cure, isn’t it? Each of these levels of evaluation is vital to a healthy and prosperous society. I hope this scenario helps you in your decision making. Good luck!

Note: If you do decide to use this model in your health education plan, please remember to include population screening and nutrition measures in your overall plan. These three elements should be the basis for your evaluation of each of the three levels. Please consider all this.
